Richard has over 30 years' experience as a Chartered Accountant both in Australia and overseas. Richard commenced in tax consulting in Australia in one of the "Big 4" accounting firms, before going on to be an audit partner in London. On returning to Australia he returned to the Big 4 as a tax consulting partner, before starting the tax division of a major middle tiered practice. He then started a boutique accounting, taxation and financial advising practice, specialising in all aspects of superannuation advising and planning as well as taxation advising. This firm was subsequently sold to AON Consulting when Richard returned to the major accounting firms providing consulting on a number of international assignments for the World Bank on the privatisation and restructuring of government businesses in Asia and the Pacific.

Richard founded Sage Advising to provide high level taxation and accounting services.

Richard has been a presenter at many seminars on a wide range of topics on taxation, superannuation, fringe benefits, estate planning and strategic management and has been an author of papers on these articles as well as writing the Australian taxation section of international publications.
